Eighty six percent of US Workers say they experience stress on the job and half of adults (49%) say this negatively impacts their behavior (Source: American Psychological Association, 2022). In my experience as a school counselor, bartender, consultant, and trainer one recurring theme continued to arise: people simply didn’t learn the skills to manage effectively. Navigating our current environment is already complicated enough, there is a gap between meeting the demands of our lives, resources, and obtaining the skills we need to meet those demands. Many of us understand that maintaining wellness is not something most of us grew up inherently learning and how that impacts our circumstances.

Due to the pandemic, economic instability, and the mental health crisis, it feels as though people are discussing wellness in a way that they never have before (and I couldn’t be happier). While conversation is a great place to start, people need actionable skills to improve their wellness now. I believe that we can continue to have these imperative conversations and implement sustainable change. At Covington Counseling & Consulting whether it is speaking or training, you will leave with skills that empower you to effectively navigate your environment, maintain your wellness, and simply do the things that work.

About 50% of teachers will quit within the first 5 years, citing burnout as one of the most determining factors (Source) . As a former school counselor, I understand the toll that a school year can take on your well-being. Furthermore, my experience as a trainer in schools gives me a distinct understanding of the need for energetic, sympathetic, and motivational training.
